Kindness Adorned

This beautiful necklace is such a unique piece of jewelry. It was an auction item at a charity gala my husband and I were attending. Leah presented the necklace to the audience and told about the design, the color, cut and quality of the stone. Then, Leah added a heart wrenching story that occurred when she was completing the design. Her narrative opened my husband's heart. He was determined to buy it and he did!

Of course, I needed earrings to go with my new necklace. We asked Leah if she would be interested in working with us. She was eager to do so. We went to her studio and I shared with her the style and size I like in an earring.

Leah was a good listener. She paid attention to us. It didn't take her long to sketch out a design. She was right on target. Together, we studied the size, color and shape of the stones we wanted to use. In no time, she had designed my beautiful earrings. What fun!

The Children's Advocacy Center for North Texas holds a special place in my heart, and I am honored to support their incredible work. For their annual gala, I designed a One of a Kind necklace to be featured in the live auction. The piece showcased a unique chrysocolla gemstone that had originally broken during its creation. Inspired by the ancient Japanese art of kintsugi—where gold is used to mend and enhance broken pottery or gemstones—the necklace became a powerful symbol of resilience, mirroring the healing journey of the children and families supported by the Advocacy Center.

This meaningful story deeply resonated with Dale and Sharon, who attended the event and generously purchased the necklace. Moved by its significance, they later approached me to create a pair of matching earrings. Through a collaborative design process, we crafted stunning malachite hoop earrings—bold, elegant statement pieces that perfectly complement the necklace.

Dale and Sharon's kindness and commitment to the Advocacy Center inspire me, and I am grateful for the opportunity to create jewelry that carries such a heartfelt message of strength and transformation.
