I am fortunate to come from a family that stressed the importance of helping others. From a story of my grandfather feeding and playing the piano for a homeless man to the hundreds of hours my parents and siblings have spent helping people in need, I have been surrounded by people with servants' hearts.
So it seems very natural to incorporate a giving spirit into my small business. I also believe in tithing, so the idea of donating 10% of my sales proceeds feels right.
Does this hurt my bottom line? Sure. But at the end of the day, knowing that my business can help women feel beautiful in their jewelry AND help people in difficult situations is worth way more than money.
