Together we can do this!

There's a tea towel hanging in my kitchen with a definition of 'Gratitude'. It says, "A feeling of appreciation; Turns what we have into enough." I bought that towel because it's important to me that my kids (as well as me!) always remember how blessed we are to have a comfortable home to live in with more food, clothing and supplies than we need (like, way more than we need!). It is also a reminder that there are people who don't have these basic needs met and I believe we are called to help them.

My husband and I believe in tithing and we give a certain amount of our personal money every month to causes that are important to us. As a small business, I have the same philosophy. Using my little business to help others is extremely gratifying to me and one of the principles on which I am building my business. 

I am so excited to begin a new way to support wonderful organizations who are working hard to help others!

Every month, 10% of the proceeds of all LJ Artisan Designs sales will be donated to a charitable organization that is doing important work to help those in need.  

I am starting close to home with an impactful organization called Serve Denton.

Serve Denton is a nonprofit agency that connects individuals and families in need with other local nonprofits for essentials like food, clothing and shelter, but also gets them involved with nonprofit assistance that helps keep vulnerable people out of crises — rehabilitation from substance abuse, mental health services and all manner of training.

When a family falls on hard times, it can be overwhelming trying to figure out where to go for help. Serve Denton was created to connect those in need with organizations who can help them and also to help them to become self-sufficient. It's a wonderful organization and you can find more information about them at www.servedenton.org. 

We're all in this together and I believe that when we help someone else, it comes back around in so many ways.
